Pam Tillis:  

She’s the daughter of Country Music legend Mel Tillis and multi-media artist Doris Tillis. A singer/songwriter whose compositions have been covered in Country, R&B, Bluegrass and Rock. An actor with a long list of film, TV and stage credits. Pam Tillis sidestepped any notions of nepotism and other “isms” that women in show business often face and carved out her own unique space as an entertainer.

 

Tillis’ 1991 debut country album, Put Yourself In My Place, went gold and yielded two No. 1 and two Top 5 singles. Her next three albums – Homeward Looking Angel, Sweetheart’s Dance and Greatest Hits, were all certified platinum. She achieved six No. 1 songs during the ‘90s Country explosion, including “Shake the Sugar Tree,” “Mi Vida Loca,” “When You Walk In The Room,” “In Between Dances,” “Don’t Tell Me What To Do,” and her signature song, “Maybe It Was Memphis.”

 

Tillis is currently finding a lot of satisfaction in mentoring young performers and artists, including those in her all-female acoustic trio, The Rose Rustlers (Haley Sullivan and Carson McKee).

Tillis’ latest album, 2020’s Looking For A Feeling, finds her doubling down on one of her first loves – songwriting. She wrote seven of the 11 tracks. Some of her most formative musical years were in the late ‘70s – and the album reflects that ‘70s Country Rock flavor. The many threads of her influences were loosely woven together by hit Country writer/producer Jimmy Ritchey (Mark Chesnutt, Jake Owen) on some tunes and Nashville rocker/producer Joe Pisapia (k.d. lang, Guster) on others.

 

After more than three decades of doing what she loves, Tillis jokes, “I guess I’m safely past the ‘flash-in-the-pan’ stage of my career. What keeps me going is learning new things, wearing new hats and trying to stay relevant. I’m still standing, and I’m still grateful.”

For nearly four decades Donavon Frankenreiter has been traveling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. With over a dozen albums under his belt, Frankenreiter has worked it on the touring trail worldwide for three decades. Donavon is a brand ambassador for Flying Embers as well as Sanuk Footwear and is also co-owner of Humble Brands, Caddis Eyewear, and several other companies.  

Blues Music Award-winning singer, guitarist, songwriter, and producer Devon Allman (son of Rock legend Gregg Allman) has appeared at the world’s biggest festivals and has co-founded the supergroups Royal Southern Brotherhood and The Allman Betts Band amassing a recording catalog of 11 albums. He writes a column for Guitar Player Magazine, is endorsed by Gibson Guitars, and serves on the board of directors for the National Blues Museum.

The Mavericks:   The Mavericks, the eclectic rock and country group known for crisscrossing musical boundaries with abandon, has gone through three distinct phases since it was founded in Miami in 1989. An initial period of heady success marked by big hits and critical acclaim in the ‘90s. A long hiatus starting 2003 when the musicians each went their own way. And finally, a triumphant reunion in 2012 which held long enough for them to recently celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary.

Now, The Mavericks have ushered in the fourth phase of their evolution with the #1 Billboard debut of their first-ever, all-Spanish album, En Español, released on the band’s own Mono Mundo label. Although all 12 tracks are in Spanish, as the title suggests, the collection represents a diversity of musical styles and cultural traditions, from tender boleros to brassy mariachi to reimagined Afro-Cuban classics. Seven of the tunes are familiar gems drawn from the vast Latin American songbook, while five are originals written or co-written by Malo.

Like the band’s entire body of music, this one album cannot be boxed into a single category. The songs are as diverse as Latin America itself, and as cohesive as the ideal of the American melting pot. To season this rich musical paella, The Mavericks add their signature country/rock/Tex-Mex flavors and a refreshing spontaneity to the mix. En Español flips the band’s usual fusion formula, which adds a striking assortment of genres – salsa, ska, norteño, mariachi, and much more – to its sturdy rock/country base. Folsom Prison Experience:  Folsom Prison Experience stars Jay Ernest as Johnny Cash and features the band members of Church of Cash playing members of Cash’s band on that immortal day: 
Tony Wirth on bass is Marshall Grant, “Jumpin’” Jack Mansk on electric guitar is Luther 
Perkins, and Jonathan TeBeest on drums is W.S. Holland. Folsom Prison Experience is directed by Stephanie Long with Pickard as the technical director. Pickard and Ernest are also the producers. 

Rounding out the cast of Folsom Prison Experience is Kat Perkins as June Carter, Dan Hopman as The Warden, Ryan Maddux as Emcee Hugh Cherry, and Bronson Bergeson as Glen Shirley/Carl Perkins. Also, the cast includes a dozen more actors playing the parts of prison guards and the Statler Brothers played by Matt Kneefe, Kris Stauffer, and Mike Johnson from the band Hitchville. 

Writing Folsom Prison Experience was a two-month process for Ernest and Pickard. To get as inclusive and fluid a story as possible, the two writers drew from a variety of sources on the facts and folklore of that pivotal day. Cash had apparently grown tired of the usual recording process inside a studio, so his band suggested a live concert taped inside a prison. As an added dimension to the stage production, Ernest and Pickard incorporated songs from 1969’s At San Quentin, Cash’s second live-in-a-prison album, which was another commercial and critical success. 
Folsom Prison Experience coupled with the recent Church of Cash album release, Flowers for June, speak volumes about the power that Johnny Cash still holds over the collective consciousness. And, consequently, both projects firmly plant Jay Ernest and Church of Cash as today’s proud champions of the Cash legacy.

Alison Ward (Agnetha)

Originally from Liverpool, England, Ward has performed as a vocalist throughout the United Kingdom, including at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London. She went on to sing as lead vocalist in a show at the New York[1]New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and she remains a Las Vegas resident to this day. Ward has also performed with every major cruise line worldwide.

Hana Keala Freeman (Frida)

A graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno, Freeman is a Los Angeles-based actress, singer and dancer. She has performed for Tokyo Disney and toured the world in productions on cruise ships, and also performed in Off-Broadway productions “50 Shades the Musical Parody” and “Sista’s the Musical.” She has performed with hit Broadway national tours such as “Ghost the Musical” and re-joins the Abba Mania family for her second tour.

James Allen (Bjorn)

Raised in Sydney, Australia, Allen has performed in numerous leading theater productions, such as “Les Miserables,” “West Side Story” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” He has served as a guest entertainer on numerous cruise lines, and also lived in Las Vegas for several years while performing in “Donn Arden’s Jubilee.”

Jeff Pike (Benny)

As a vocalist, keyboardist, and guitarist, Pike has performed many different musical styles in his three decades as an entertainer. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he just recorded two new albums scheduled for release in 2022 and 2023.
