Beethoven, Violin Concerto, guest violinist Filip Pogády
    Brahms, Symphony No. 4
    Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra

With nine symphonies, five piano concertos, 32 piano sonatas, and countless chamber works, it may be surprising that Beethoven composed only one concerto for violin, and what a spectacular concerto it is! Classicfm.com describes Beethoven’s Violin Concerto as having “a zesty, spirited finale making dazzling use of the instrument’s melodic range.” Praised by the press for the "beauty of his tone", “lightning-like virtuosity” (Russkoe Slovo) and his "commanding performances" (The New York Times), Slovakian-born violin virtuoso Filip Pogády takes center stage with the MVSO for Beethoven’s vibrant Violin Concerto.

After intermission, the MVSO delivers Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 4, the last of the great composer’s symphonies. Brahms wrote this masterpiece in the late 1800s in a quiet town in the heart of the Alps. He packed his symphony with warmth and beauty, with his tangled thread of melancholy running throughout, leaving audiences overflowing with emotion, which explains why this symphony continues to hold court as a standard in the classical repertoire.

Hotel California – The Original Tribute To The Eagles (Canada)

When The Eagles stopped to catch their breath a few decades ago, having sold over 100 million records, collected six Grammy’s, and enjoyed six #1 albums, Hotel California began a pioneering journey through their history-making  music that has taken them around the globe and thrilled hundreds of thousands of Eagles fans. It’s been a journey they could never have imagined back in 1986, but their dedication, unique musical gifts, and an obsessive commitment to doing this legendary music true justice in performance, set them apart from the many Eagles bands that came after them. Hotel California toured relentlessly from the 80’s straight through to today, setting the standard for world-class tribute productions as they went, and sharing stages with the likes of The Doobie Bros., Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gretchen Wilson, REO Speedwagon, and many more.  From Japan to Dubai, Toronto to Texas, Hotel California has boldly taken the tribute band where none had gone before them, and changed an industry’s collective mind about how good a “tribute” band could really be.

Today, Hotel California continues to tour internationally, and their stage show has evolved into one of the most impressive and popular productions on the North American soft-seat and festival circuits. Featuring original members within their strongest lineup to date, the band is enjoying what they do today more than ever - and it sure sounds like it! It won’t take you long to hear why legions of Eagles fans come back to see them time after time, and the top venues & festivals have them back again and again. The easy-going warmth that comes from the band onstage exemplifies the Southern California sound of the 1970’s. The experience of a Hotel California show isn’t just about the band – it’s about celebrating the music and the memories, and the band gets the audiences involved and on their feet! Close your eyes and you’re right back there...

If you love The Eagles, then welcome to Hotel California – you’ve just found the next-best thing!

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

We Are Messengers is fronted by Darren Mulligan, a single-minded Irish man who writes rock n' roll anthems and intimate earthly psalms for messy broken people. The goal has always been to engage culture in conversation about the goodness of God and to put words and melody to some of the hardest things we feel as humans. This is a band that understands and loves the outsiders, the marginalized, the lost, and the least.

We Are Messengers have built a career, the old-fashioned way, on the road touring relentlessly around the USA, Europe and beyond. They have had 11 consecutive top 10 radio singles including the multi chart #1 hit song "Come What May" and the Gold certified "Maybe It's OK'.

Collaboration has been a cornerstone of We Are Messengers' distinctive sound. In 2020, country legend Vince Gill joined the band on a one-take, stripped-back version of "Image of God," captured live and acoustic at Vince's place. Features by Cory Asbury, Josh Baldwin, Ben Fuller, Blanca, Naomi Raine of Maverick City and Christian Hip Hop legend KB have followed.
