Puffs – Or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic by Matt Cox

Produced by Powerhouse Theatre Collaborative

For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs... who just happened to be there too. This play is a hilarious look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three potential heroes just trying to make it through a magic school that proves to be very dangerous for children. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Hailed as “the reigning Queen of American stand-up,” Whitney Cummings is one of the preeminent comedic voices currently working as a stand-up comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Best known for creating and starring in the NBC series “Whitney,” she also co-created and co-wrote (with Michael Patrick King) the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series “2 Broke Girls.”

In 2019, Whitney launched her own podcast titled “Good For You” and debuted her fourth stand up special, “Can I Touch It?” on Netflix.  Previous specials have debuted on HBO and Comedy Central. In 2017, Whitney debuted her novel “I’m Fine…And Other Lies,” which details her brutal anxiety and codependency disorder, written with her trademark entertaining wit, humor, and honesty.  In addition to co-writing and directing the feature film “The Female Brian,” she also stars alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein, and Blake Griffin. The film details the inner workings and complex power of brain chemistry among couples at different stages of their relationships. It premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was distributed by IFC.

On the big screen, Whitney was last seen in “Unforgettable” for Warner Bros.  Past feature film credits include “The Wedding Ringer,” “Made of Honor,” and “The Ridiculous Six.” Whitney has appeared in such series as “Undateable,” “Workaholics,” “Maron” and the Comedy Central Roasts, which have solidified her presence in comedy television.

She has made countless other television appearances on talk shows such as “Watch What Happens Live,” “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” “The Late Late Show,” and she’s appeared on and guest hosted “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The continued success can be attributed to one thing, as explained by Glamour Magazine: “One thing has remained constant in this career: Whitney says it as it is, …and OWNs stand-up comedy.”

Whitney is currently touring the United States following the success of her sold out Codependence Tour.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Not every musician has the opportunity to revisit and even potentially improve upon their biggest hits. But on the forthcoming TEN to 1 record, the award-winning band Lonestar— Dean Sams (keyboards, acoustic guitar, background vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitarist, background vocals ), Keech Rainwater (drums) and Drew Womack (lead vocals, guitar)—are taking a fresh look at all 10 of their chart-topping country songs. This streak started in 1996 with the band's second single, the rock-edged "No News," and continued with the following year's "Come Cryin' to Me" and “Everything’s Changed.” The band's quadruple-platinum 1999 album Lonely Grill spawned four No. 1 hits (including the beloved global smash "Amazed") and established Lonestar as music's preeminent pop-country band—a status they'd maintain through the 2000s and beyond. With these re-recordings, the band members were mindful of striking a balance between preserving the sonic elements fans were familiar with—and not repeating them. Fittingly, TEN to 1 record reflects the ways Lonestar's hits have evolved over the years during the band's rousing, high-energy concerts. Such talent has contributed to the band winning many of music’s top honors, including Academy Of Country Music awards for New Vocal Group in 1996, Single and Song Of The Year in 2000, along with Humanitarian Of The Year in 2002. They also won Country Music Association's Vocal Group of the Year and International Artist Achievement award in 2001. All told, Lonestar have sold more than 10.5 million records since their formation. With the release of TEN to 1 record, the band members are full of gratitude for what they've accomplished already, and excited about what the future holds. "It's amazing that we're still standing and putting on great shows after all these years," Sams says. "The fans are still coming out to our shows night after night, to see us and hear our music. That's almost 30 years of touring, and I can't tell you how grateful I am—and I've never once taken it for granted."

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

For over four decades, Blue Öyster Cult has been thrilling fans of intelligent hard rock worldwide with powerful albums loaded with classic songs. Indeed, the Long Island, NY-‐based band is revered within the hard rock and heavy metal scene for its pioneering work. Blue Öyster Cult occupies a unique place in rock history because it’s one of very few hard rock/heavy metal bands to earn both genuine mainstream critical acclaim as well as commercial success.

The band is often cited as a major influence by other acts such as Metallica, and BÖC was listed in VH1’s countdown of the greatest hard rock bands of all time.
Upon the release of BÖC’s self-‐titled debut album in 1972, the band was praised for its catchy-‐yet-‐heavy music and lyrics that could be provocative, terrifying, funny or ambiguous, often all in the same song. BÖC’s canon includes three stone-‐cold classic songs that will waft through the cosmos long after the sun has burned out: The truly haunting “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” from 1976’s Agents of Fortune, the pummeling “Godzilla” from 1977’s Spectres and the hypnotically melodic “Burnin’ for You” from1981’s Fire of Unknown Origin. Other notable BÖC songs include “Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll,” “Then Came the Last Days of May,” “I Love the Night,” “In Thee,” "Veteran of the Psychic Wars,” “Dominance and Submission,” “Astronomy,” “Black Blade” and “Shooting Shark.”

The intense creative vision of BÖC’s original core duo of vocalist/lead guitarist Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser, and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Eric Bloom are complemented by Richie Castellano on guitar and keyboards, and the longtime rhythm section of bass guitarist Kasim Sulton, and drummer Jules Radino.
We realized we’re a ‘classic rock’ band. That’s what we are, that’s what we do best, that’s what we know. The band members are proud of BÖC’s classic sound, and pleased the band is creating vibrant work for disenfranchised music lovers who don’t like the homogenized, prefabricated pop or sound-‐alike, formulaic rap-‐metal, which monopolizes the radio airwaves and best-‐seller charts.

BÖC has always maintained a relentless touring schedule that brings new songs and classics to original fans and, as Bloom puts it, “teen-‐agers with green hair.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
With multiple sold-out U.S. tours under its belt and hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, Leonid & Friends continues to astound its global audience with its unique ability in capturing the spirit, musicality, and fire of American supergroup Chicago.

And what is even more stunning is that Leonid & Friends, comprised of 11 of the finest musicians in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Belarus, haven't seen Chicago perform live, yet replicates the band’s complex arrangements amazingly note for note.
Chicago has never been in Russia, and none of us have attended their concerts," said Leonid Vorobyev, a multi-instrumentalist who is the band’s leader. "We have only recordings and videos (to help us learn Chicago songs)."

No charts or scores of the song existed so Vorobyev transcribed the tune by ear. The result was a YouTube video that quickly went viral. Since then Leonid & Friends has recorded videos of other Chicago hits including Make Me Smile, 25 or 6 to 4, and Saturday In The Park.

Please note that a VIP Meet & Greet Add-On option will be available at checkout screen. The add-on includes a ticket to a post show meet & greet which includes an autograph signing, photo op and small gift from the band.

Please note: The Add-On DOES NOT include a ticket to the show. All fans must purchase a reserved ticket to attend the concert.

Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to seeing you at Colonial Theatre of Laconia for a future event.

In the year 1970, four young musicians from the South Bay of Los Angeles, came together to create a new invigorating style of music.

Exploring the possibilities of progressive, classical and world influences, yet rooted with the soul of the blues and R&B, Joseph Puerta, Christopher North, David Pack, and Burleigh Drummond created a new sound that was defined and recognized as “Ambrosia”.

Originally labeled as America’s answer to the progressive invasion of such English acts as “Yes” and “King Crimson”, the group quickly proved it was all that and much more as it’s albums painted aural landscapes covering the gamut of musical styles and attracting the collaboration of such cultural icons as, Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. and Alan Parsons.

In it’s brief recording history, Ambrosia garnered 5 Grammy Nominations, 5 Hit Singles, Heavy FM Airplay and the admiration and respect of the musical community.  All this was in addition to Sold Out concerts around the world.

Today, the band is more alive and compelling than ever.  With three of the original members in tact plus the addition of guitar ace Doug Jackson on electric guitar and backing vocals, Mary Harris contributing amazing keyboards and vocals, with the fantastic power vocals of Kipp Lennon (Venice)…Ambrosia is exploring new musical territory and continuing to wow life-long fans and new converts alike!
