    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

After seeing his mother suffer from Alzheimer’s, Jay Allen wrote “Blank Stares.” A video of him performing the song with his mother on stage in Iowa went viral causing Jay to become known around the world. His mother has since passed, but Jay continues to tour internationally as an advocate for the Alzheimer’s Association, and the song has gone on to raise over $100 million dollars to help fight the disease. Allen was presented The Caregiver Award by The National Alzheimer’s Association, was personally invited to The White House by First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, and made history by performing the first ever concert in the U.S. Capitol Building.

Jay has been featured on NBC’s The Voice, ABC World News, PeopleTV, Pickler & Ben, and in People & Forbes Magazine, among others. He was selected as The Highway Find on Sirius XM with his song “Sounds Good To Me,” won the 2022 Country Now Awards as Favorite Competition Contestant, and was recognized as one of Music Mayhem Magazine’s 2023 Artists to Watch.

    Jorma Kaukonen

    Jorma Kaukonen

    Sellersville, PA
    United States
Doors at 7:30 PM, Show at 8:00 PM

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

A Grammy-winning American guitar player and rock & roll Hall of Famer, Jorma Kaukonen is best known as a founding member of psychedelic rock legends Jefferson Airplane and cult blues-rockers Hot Tuna. His fingerstyle guitar method, which is rooted in blues, folk, and Americana, has made him an influential figure and in-demand instructor - he operates his own guitar camp. In addition to his work with Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, Kaukonen is a prolific collaborator and successful solo artist who has released albums at a steady pace since the late 1970s, including River of Time (2009), Ain't in No Hurry (2015), and The River Flows (2021).

Jorma Kaukonen was born and grew up in Washington, D.C., where he first turned to the guitar. He lived in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 60s, playing backup to singer Janis Joplin in local clubs. In 1965, Kaukonen became a founding member of Jefferson Airplane, which soared to fame in 1967. Though Kaukonen's songs and vocals were not prominently featured in the band, his distinctive guitar-playing was crucial to its sound.

With bassist Jack Casady, Kaukonen formed a spinoff duo from the group in 1970 called Hot Tuna, and this became his primary musical vehicle after Jefferson Airplane split in 1973. Hot Tuna recorded a series of albums on which Kaukonen sang and played guitar until 1978. After that, Kaukonen worked as a soloist and with such groups as Vital Parts (1980). Kaukonen reunited with Casady in Hot Tuna during the 80s, and both participated in the 1989 reunion of Jefferson Airplane. A  Hot Tuna reunion album appeared the following year. Kaukonen remained active as the 20th century ended and the 21st began, regularly touring and recording in different configurations before finding a home with Red House Records.

Don't miss this solo acoustic performance by a classic rock legend.

Roth has also served as a music director as well as a painter of realistic oil paintings and writer of his own poetry. Many guitarists have looked to Roth's music as inspiration over the years.

Uli invented his own unique instrument - the by-now legendary 6-octave Sky guitar which is without peer. He produces his own albums and directs his own videos. Artistically he has been an inspiration to many of his fellow artists as well as his audience and continues to be so. He has been cited by countless guitarists from all over the world as one of their main influences.

Widely recognized as perhaps the single most important protagonist of Neo-classical guitar playing, Uli is seen by many as a trend-setter who has often been considerably ahead of his time. In recognition of his remarkable artistic achievements Uli was officially inducted in the Walk of Fame by Europe's only Rock & Pop Museum, which is situated in Gronau, Germany. What happens when a teenage girl born in the early days of the 21st century pines for the good old days of the 1940s and 50s, when life was simpler and pop music had that swing? She hops in her Time Machine and turns back the dial to the days of Boogie Woogie, of course!

One might think that Ella Rodgers, vocalist and musician, might share the same enthusiasm for current pop music and the latest trends as her peers. However, Ella's musical taste harkens back more than 80 years to her favorite recording artists of the 1910s to the 1960s. As a vocalist, Ella’s style borrows from The Boswell Sisters, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Judy Garland, Doris Day, and others. Her first tutors arrived in the form of old records she found at thrift stores, as well as her Dad's playing that fascinated Ella as a child. As a pianist, Ella’s styles are equally as varied – ragtime, blues, traditional, and the best of the American Songbook. As a songwriter, Ella captures the fun and light-hearted existence of living along the coast near Savannah, Georgia, evoking that certain Leslie Gore vibe of the Sixties, and leaving listeners with one of her melodies stuck in their heads for days.

Ella Rodgers was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, a city full of rich musical history and southern charm. She started playing piano at age six, writing at age eight, and performing professionally at age fifteen. She learned to sing from listening to old records, especially Judy Garland. Her passion for writing came from her dad, Bobby Lee Rodgers. This opened her up to all styles of music from the 1920s to the 1950s, and she soon felt at home playing the music of great artists who came before her. Ella’s passion for older music transcends into her lifestyle. She started sewing her own clothing at age 12, and she embodies her love of music from her soul to her clothes. Everything about her transports you into another time. Her future goal is to continue playing with her dad and recording for many decades to come.

A bright new voice has emerged from the Deep South. Join us in the Time Machine as we welcome the delightful Ella Rodgers, accompanied by her father, Bobby Lee Rodgers.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Laura Williams is a 20-year-old Christian singer songwriter from Quakertown, PA. Laura’s life changed overnight after she was discovered through social media by an agency who wanted to manage her full time during the spring of her senior year of high school. She decided to take her shot at music – a lifelong dream that burned inside of her.

Laura began daily vocal practice and worked with her team to perfect her social media presence while she worked as a babysitter, food delivery driver, and dog walker. After months of hard work, Laura was contacted by NBC’s The Voice. Wowing the coaches and scoring a four-chair turn, Laura’s audition blew up on social media because of her bubbly personality and soulful powerhouse vocals.

Since her time on the show, Laura has been gigging locally and traveling to and from Nashville to record music. Contemplating “what’s next?,” Laura knew it was time for a concert of her very own.

Combining Christian based motivational speaking as well as the universal language that is music, Laura intends to encourage and connect with others as she dives into multiple relatable topics of hardship we experience in our lives, weaving heartfelt songs into each subject throughout the show. HONESTLY: A Journey In Faith breathes life into the saying that being challenged in life is inevitable, but being defeated is optional. Laura’s concert will leave all in attendance feeling seen and hopeful.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Internationally renowned guitarist Ana Popovic has built her career on defining and describing, on her own terms, the essence of American music, pushing limits, bending genres, and reinventing her music and herself with each new record. She's shown her commitment to celebrating her guitar-driven, eclectic music style through consistent touring, awards, and recognition for the past 25 years. In the process, she's emerged as one of the most thoughtful, dynamic, and committed performers in modern songwriting and guitar.

Ana's latest album, Power (2023), brings those dynamics to the fore and, in the process, turns this set of songs into both a powerful and personal tale of survival through faith, determination and tenacity. They were spawned from a decidedly tricky set of circumstances that tested Ana's devotion to making music and her perseverance. After a breast cancer diagnosis, and with the support and encouragement of her band, Ana scheduled demos, recordings, re-recordings and live shows with her band between chemotherapy treatments and never missed a show.

Power was recorded with an all-star line-up of top notch musicians from Detroit, Dallas, and New Orleans. She wrote and produced the album along with her bass player/musical director Buthel and it was then mixed and mastered by multi-talented Grammy Award and Dove Award-winning producer Jeremy Bishop Hicks. The tracks on Power have Ana and company veering from hard stomping blues to relentless rhythms and searing soulful refrains.

It's little wonder Ana's music continues to have such an indelible impact. Popovic has been nominated for ten Blues Music Awards. She's appeared on the covers of Vintage Guitar and Guitar Player magazines. Most of Ana's albums have climbed to the Top Five of the Billboard Blues Charts and continue to receive regular airplay on radio stations worldwide. Ana and her band continue to tour relentlessly. Alan Doyle - actor, producer, author, and lead singer for Newfoundland’s Great Big Sea for over 20 years - hardly needs an introduction. With five solo albums under his belt, Doyle has been touring with his six-piece band for the last decade. In 2014, Doyle released his memoir Where I Belong, followed by A Newfoundlander In Canada (October 2017), and All Together Now (November 2020). Amidst these projects, Doyle found time to write music for and appear on CBC’s Republic of Doyle, guest on CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries, and had roles in Winter’s Tale (2014) and Robin Hood (2010). With his 2022 live album Here, Tonight and a recent JUNO nomination for his 2021 album Back to the Harbour, Doyle chalks up a lot of where he is right now to luck.

Doyle hails from Petty Harbour, NL, and formed Great Big Sea in 1993 with Sean McCann, Bob Hallett, and Darrell Power, in which they fused traditional Newfoundland music with their own pop sensibilities. Their 9 albums, double-disc hits retrospective, and two DVDs have all been declared Gold or Platinum and have sold a combined 1.2 million copies in Canada.

Adam Baldwin has been a mainstay of the Atlantic Canada music scene for over a decade. His music has continued to evolve since his 2013 award winning self-titled solo debut EP. In 2016 Baldwin released his first full length album No Telling When (Precisely Nineteen Eight-Five). On his sophomore full-length album, Concertos & Serenades, Adam Baldwin bears witness and pays tribute to a tradition of desperation: sinners and losers, perpetual failures, and down-and-out phantoms that haunt his home’s coastlines and back roads - without a passing judgement. Some of the tales happened, some didn’t, and most walk a tightrope between truth and fiction.

When virtuoso Irish playing jumps the pond running naked through the wide open fields of bluegrass and Americana, JigJam is born. Bluegrass and American Folk music originated from the group’s home, and now JigJam is here to take it back!

JigJam made its Grand Ole Opry Debut in Nashville in March 2023 to critical acclaim, receiving a standing ovation from a sold-out crowd on Country Music’s biggest stage. The group was joined on the night by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Steve Earle, Lauren Alaina, and many more. This Offaly and Tipperary-born band has started the first wave of attack in the new Irish invasion of Americana.

Foot stomping, high energy badassery is what you’re in for when you see this musical powerhouse live in concert.

Founding members from Offaly, Jamie McKeogh (Lead singer and guitar) and Daithi Melia (5 String Banjo and Dobro) were joined by Tipperary-born Gavin Strappe (Mandolin and Tenor Banjo) in 2016. This year they are joined by Kevin Buckley (Fiddle) to make up this iGrass (Irish Bluegrass) quartet.

Described as “the best Irish band in bluegrass” and “sparkling, infectious” these lads have been hailed as “Ireland’s answer to New Grass Revival.” Bluegrass has its roots in Irish music and Irish immigration. iGrass and JigJam is what happens when the Irish find their prodigal son.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

For the first time, Margaret Glaspy is presenting a solo acoustic show filled with songs from her past and present. Freshly off the heels of her third full-length album, Echo The Diamond, the music emerged from a deliberate stripping-away of artifice to reveal life for all its harsh truths and ineffable beauty. Like the precious gem of its title, the result was an object of startling luminosity, one capable of cutting through the most elaborately constructed façades. Glaspy will be bringing a reimagination of these songs as well as those of her favorite songwriters to the stage with ‘Margaret Glaspy: Unplugged.’

Originally from Northern California, Glaspy first started writing songs at age 15 and soon began honing the potent balance of sensitivity and incisiveness that now imbues her music. In bringing Echo The Diamond to life, she adhered to a songwriting process meant to preserve and amplify her unfettered expression. Drawing from an eclectic mix of inspirations Sonic Youth, Vivienne Westwood’s punk-influenced approach to fashion, Tom Waits’s music and turn as a jailbird DJ in Jim Jarmusch’s Down By Law, the 1985 Japanese Western film Tampopo - Glaspy’s influences show in her ability to turn a phrase with edge and humanity all in the same gulp.

As an instrumentalist, Ryan Lerman spent his 20s touring the world as bassist for Ben Folds, guitarist for Michael Buble, and string arranger/musical director for John Legend. As a songwriter, his compositions have been recorded by Vulfpeck, Buble, and others. As a scene builder, he's one half of the creative team behind YouTube sensations Scary Pockets and ‘stories’. Lerman's songwriting unrelentingly seeks the impassioned marriage of melody and harmony. Sonically, Lerman is an explorer, never afraid to throw a piano down a flight of stairs, dunk a wurlitzer in a sensory deprivation tank, or turn a guitar into a piece of mallet percussion. In the age of instant gratification, Lerman is not flashy; he's a craftsman.

This show features the world’s most elite dogs that will captivate your audience with their incredible athleticism, speed and aerodynamics!

Puppy Pals originator Wesley Williams started it all based on his love for any and all animals! His passion dates back to his childhood days where his mom even said he wanted to purchase a full-on petting zoo at just five years old. It was always something new she proclaimed. One month all he wanted was a potbelly pig, the next month a miniature pony, the next month a flock of chickens. You name the animal, and Wesley wanted it. Although he has always had a genuine joy for working with animals, Wesley pursued his unique unicycle skills at an early age, but always kept that dream of working with furry friends in the back of his mind. Just a few years into forming his lifelong goal of an animal act, Wesley has burst onto the scene with his "Puppy Pals," a hit comedic stunt dog show!

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Everything Is Alive, Darlingside’s fourth LP, marks a subtle but remarkable departure for the Boston-based quartet NPR once described as “exquisitely arranged, literary minded, baroque folk-pop.” While the album retains much of the lushness and sophistication of Extralife (2018) and Fish Pond Fish (2020), the band’s latest work decisively exposes and differentiates the individual voices of the four songwriters - a daring reinvention for a group known for ubiquitous vocal harmonies. Grappling with change both personal and universal, with quandaries domestic and existential, Everything Is Alive is an album about loss and the struggle for a semblance of redemption.

Comprised of Don Mitchell, Auyon Mukharji, Harris Paseltiner and David Senft, four likeminded multi-instrumentalists who first met at Williams College in 2009, Darlingside’s career has been defined by the elegance of their compositions and the unity of their four voices. Their talent for harmony and melodic world-building is part of what garnered praise from outlets like NPR, Rolling Stone and The New Yorker, and what has created demand worldwide for their extraordinary live performances.

As an outspoken singer and ambassador for peace, Holly brings a unique integration of world consciousness and self-evaluation, always growing and sharing experience humbly and boldly.

Holly discovered her unique and recognizable voice at an early age, learning to sign along with recordings of some of the world’s great singers. PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Sean Chambers began his career in the Blues back in 1998 when he toured with the legendary Hubert Sumlin as his guitarist and band leader until 2003. During Sean’s tenure with Mr. Sumlin, Britain’s own Guitarist magazine named Chambers as “One of the top 50 blues guitarists of the last century.”

In 2009, Chambers recorded his critically-acclaimed album, Ten Til Midnight. The title cut was featured on The House of Blues Radio Hour as a “Blues Breaker.” The album also generated significant airplay on Sirius/XM Radio’s blues channel as a “Pick to Click.”

Chambers released Live from the Long Island Blues Warehouse in 2011. The album was voted “Best Live Blues Album of 2011” by Canada’s Blues Underground Network and it ranked as one of the Top 3 Live CDs in Germany by the magazine Wasser Prawda. It was also nominated for a Jimi Award for “Best Live Blues Album of 2011.” Released in 2013, The Rock House Session, was nominated for a Blues Blast Music Award (2014) for “Best Blues Rock Album of the Year.” In 2017 Sean Chambers released his 6th album, Trouble & Whiskey, which hit #11 on The Billboard Blues Charts, and reached #7 on the Living Blues Charts during the first week of its release.

Joining Sean as the Savoy Brown Rhythm Section Band are Pat De Salvo and Garnet Grimm. De Salvo joined up with the late Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown in 2001, playing acoustic bass, and began touring with Simmonds full time in 2009. Drummer Grimm was introduced to Simmonds in 1999 and began working with Simmons and De Salvo as an acoustic/electric trio, playing, recording and touring together until Simmonds' untimely passing in 2022.
