KMUW's Media Circus is an annual fundraising gala which benefits student internships and helps to ensure the future of public radio and support KMUW's mission of providing in-depth and quality news coverage.
The past two years have included circus-themed games and treats, aerialists, live and silent auctions, and animals from Tanganyika Wildlife Park. The highlight of the 2020 Media Circus gala will be an address by David Greene, along with stage games hosted by Greene and featuring prominent local journalists and media personalities.
David Greene is an award-winning journalist and New York Times best-selling author. KMUW listeners know him best as host of NPR's Morning Edition. His time as an NPR foreign correspondent in Moscow led to a best-selling book, Midnight in Siberia, and an Edward R. Murrow Award. Greene also spent four years covering the White House for NPR, following former President George W. Bush's second term. With so much journalism experience under his belt (he also trekked across five continents to report on White House visits), Greene has plenty of material with which to regale the Media Circus audience.
