    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

The Way Down Wanderers sing like angels but write songs with guts that are unmistakably earthbound: a soon-to-be dad, excited but scared, fighting for self-growth; someone recovering from alcohol dependency, devoted to healing but with a confession to make - there are no fairytales here. And yet, the music begs an unapologetically Pollyanna question, like a big-hearted dare: Can a song help save you?

More Like Tomorrow, the Way Down Wanderers’ third full-length release is the highly anticipated follow-up to their 2019 breakthrough album Illusions, which earned praise from Rolling Stone Country, No Depression, Relix, and more. The band's trademark harmonies and string-band virtuosity anchor the new album, but the sonic borders the Way Down Wanderers once flirted with crossing have been beautifully breached. Their lyricism has also evolved, giving way to true stories that cut deep. With More Like Tomorrow, the five-piece band from Peoria, Illinois, has emerged not just as quirky bluegrass kids with a habit of experimentation, but as confident purveyors of some of the most sophisticated roots-pop anywhere.

Often referred to by fans as one of the hardest-working, hardest-touring bands on the circuit today, the 5-piece Illinois-based act not only proves that classification with their jam-packed tour schedule but also on stage every night, with youthful exuberance and a lively stage show, as reliable as it is infectious. High energy percussion, mandolin, guitar, bass, banjo and fiddle weave seamlessly together to create an experience for fans that has sold out shows across the UK and the United States, filling the front rows with fans not just singing along to one tune, but singing along to all of them. “Everybody says it. We’d be nothing without our supporters. Yeah, they buy tickets and of course we love that, but when we’ve been on the road for 10 hours and walk onto a stage road weary and we see familiar faces singing along, it’s hard to describe. It's everything, really. There’s a whole lot of love there.”

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION
Alejandro Escovedo returns to explore “one of the most fascinating paths in music" (NPR Music) on Echo Dancing (out March 29 via Yep Roc Records) - a career-spanning collection that’s less a look back than a bold new turn for this sonic adventurer and singular creative mind. Completely reinventing and re-recording his previous work - with inspiration from Brian Eno and Judy Nylon and Suicide - Escovedo traces a one-of-a-kind musical life from 70s New York punk to Austin's "musical conscience and hometown hero" (NPR Alt Latino) to unflinching advocate for musicians’ mental health and immigrant causes.

Throughout Echo Dancing, Escovedo revisits rarities from his 80s Austin groups Buick MacKane and The True Believers (natural picks for a recent Austin City Limits Hall of Fame inductee), solo standouts that had No Depression crown him Artist Of The Decade in the 90s and more recent work through 2018’s scorching and cinematic border epic The Crossing.

Hoboken-based rock/Americana singer-songwriter-guitarist James Mastro (formerly of The Bongos, Richard Lloyd Band, and the Health & Happiness Show) is set to release his debut solo album, Dawn of a New Error, on February 21. The album marks Mastro's return as a frontman, singer and songwriter. Featuring guest vocals by Ian Hunter and produced by Tony Shanahan – Patti Smith’s bassist, co-producer and musical collaborator – the songs were recorded whenever Mastro and Shanahan found time to get together between other projects. With the new album, Mastro will be unleashing 10 brand new, fiery cuts that will make even the most jaded music listener sit up and listen. Textural and otherworldly one minute and retro-rock the next, the album is bursting with timeless rock hooks, shout-it-like-you-mean-it vocals, and clever, thoughtful lyrics. It is a timely album that toes the line between twangy Americana and Art Rock.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Acoustic guitarist Leo Kottke was born in Athens, Georgia, but left town after a year and a half. Raised in 12 different states, he absorbed a variety of musical influences as a child, flirting with both violin and trombone, before abandoning Stravinsky for the guitar at age 11. After sending tapes to guitarist John Fahey, Kottke was signed to Fahey’s Takoma label, releasing what has come to be called the Armadillo record. Fahey and his manager Denny Bruce soon secured a production deal for Kottke with Capitol Records. Kottke’s 1971 major-label debut Mudlark positioned him somewhat uneasily in the singer/songwriter vein, despite his own wishes to remain an instrumental performer. Still, despite arguments with label heads as well as with Bruce, Kottke flourished during his tenure on Capitol, as records like 1972’s Greenhouse and 1973’s live My Feet Are Smiling and Ice Water found him branching out with guest musicians and honing his guitar technique.

With 1975’s Chewing Pine, Kottke reached the U.S. Top 30 for the second time; he also gained an international following thanks to his continuing tours in Europe and Australia. Kottke has been awarded two Grammy nominations.

After their Rick-Rubin-produced debut album, and a self-produced second record featuring songs written for an award-winning Netflix film, Ruen Brothers emerged with a powerful timeless ode to Western classics on their 2023 release, Ten Paces. Showcasing their mixing, mastering, writing and soundscape design talents, the British duo hit neo-noir gold on the 10-song collection with classic melodies and dulcet, soaring vocal tones, laced with western guitar motifs and reverberant production. With their dusky vocal harmonies and love of twangy 50s rock, England's Ruen Brothers have a sound that harks back to a rock and roll past but gives it a modern urgency.

Inspired by their dad’s record collection, Rupert and Henry covered the likes of Charlie Feathers, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Chuck Berry and The Everly Brothers in the smoke-laced working men’s pubs of their industrial hometown. Since initial discovery via the BBC, Ruen Brothers have opened for artists such as Greta Van Fleet and Orville Peck, garnered a wealth of radio airplay around the US and toured from East to West between recording sessions. 2023 saw them land on multiple Billboard and radio charts with Ten Paces

    Artist Website

Ric Robertson is an American original, pulling influences from the greats that came before, but wholly responsible for building his own creative universe. His new record, Carolina Child, is nothing short of an opus, taking his wealth of musical proclivities - from the mountain music of his home state of North Carolina, all the way to the jazz and funk of his current homebase of New Orleans - and fueling it into a gonzo vision of Americana that is equally innovative as it is simply beautiful to hear. It’s a riot of juxtapositions and a chaos of imagination anchored by Robertson’s soft, flowing voice, and his uncanny knack for chronicling our lost lives. Step into his boundlessly creative multi-verse and you’ll find nothing short of American songbook excellence.

A Grammy-winning American guitar player and rock & roll Hall of Famer, Jorma Kaukonen is best known as a founding member of psychedelic rock legends Jefferson Airplane and cult blues-rockers Hot Tuna. His fingerstyle guitar method, which is rooted in blues, folk, and Americana, has made him an influential figure and in-demand instructor - he operates his own guitar camp. In addition to his work with Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna, Kaukonen is a prolific collaborator and successful solo artist who has released albums at a steady pace since the late 1970s, including River of Time (2009), Ain't in No Hurry (2015), and The River Flows (2021).

Jorma Kaukonen was born and grew up in Washington, D.C., where he first turned to the guitar. He lived in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 60s, playing backup to singer Janis Joplin in local clubs. In 1965, Kaukonen became a founding member of Jefferson Airplane, which soared to fame in 1967. Though Kaukonen's songs and vocals were not prominently featured in the band, his distinctive guitar-playing was crucial to its sound.

With bassist Jack Casady, Kaukonen formed a spinoff duo from the group in 1970 called Hot Tuna, and this became his primary musical vehicle after Jefferson Airplane split in 1973. Hot Tuna recorded a series of albums on which Kaukonen sang and played guitar until 1978. After that, Kaukonen worked as a soloist and with such groups as Vital Parts (1980). Kaukonen reunited with Casady in Hot Tuna during the 80s, and both participated in the 1989 reunion of Jefferson Airplane. A  Hot Tuna reunion album appeared the following year. Kaukonen remained active as the 20th century ended and the 21st began, regularly touring and recording in different configurations before finding a home with Red House Records.

Don't miss this solo acoustic performance by a classic rock legend.

Chris Difford is a Grammy nominated and double Ivor Novello Award winning lyricist who has brought us characters and sketches from everyday life, and has successfully turned the mundane into the beautiful, the urbane into the exquisite, for over 40 years.

Chris has co-written some of the most enduring and best-loved songs of our time such as “Up The Junction,” “Cool For Cats,” “Labelled With Love,” “Tempted” and many others. Squeeze returned with two new albums in recent years , Cradle to the Grave in 2015 and The Knowledge in 2017, followed by extensive world-wide touring supporting Hall and Oates in the US and Madness in the UK. The Squeeze tour "Food for Thought" in 2022 virtually sold out and raised over £30,000 for various food banks. The band has never sounded better.

Chris hosts songwriting retreats and has done so for over 30 years. He is one of the country’s most respected songwriters and has co-written with a host of musicians and performers that reads like a veritable who’s who of the music industry.

His autobiography, Some Fantastic Place, was released in 2017 and found praise in the UK press and with fans around the world who recognized his journey into recovery while touring with his friends in Squeeze. The book continues to be part of his solo touring and became the focus of his sell out two-week run at the Edinburgh Festival. A stand-up show with a bit of sit down.

In 2023 Squeeze completed a successful tour of the USA with the Psychedelic Furs. Meanwhile Chris is somehow finding the time to still run his beloved songwriting workshops for the charity Help Musician’s as well as recording series 3 of his highly acclaimed Podcast “I never thought it would happen.” Chris is an ambassador for Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter, two charities close to his heart.

A Patreon is being launched this year with lots of surprises, including podcasts you will not find anywhere else and news of online solo shows and workshops. It’s all happening.

Uli Jon Roth is a German multi-instrumentalist musician who has written his own musical scores and arrangements and achieved international fame with his hard rock and heavy metal work, earning acclaim both as a solo artist and as a member of the popular group Scorpions. Roth has also served as a music director as well as a painter of realistic oil paintings and writer of his own poetry. Many guitarists have looked to Roth's music as inspiration over the years.

Uli invented his own unique instrument - the by-now legendary 6-octave Sky guitar which is without peer. He produces his own albums and directs his own videos. Artistically he has been an inspiration to many of his fellow artists as well as his audience and continues to be so. He has been cited by countless guitarists from all over the world as one of their main influences.

Widely recognized as perhaps the single most important protagonist of Neo-classical guitar playing, Uli is seen by many as a trend-setter who has often been considerably ahead of his time. In recognition of his remarkable artistic achievements Uli was officially inducted in the Walk of Fame by Europe's only Rock & Pop Museum, which is situated in Gronau, Germany. This took place in September 2003 at a concert in London.

What happens when a teenage girl born in the early days of the 21st century pines for the good old days of the 1940s and 50s, when life was simpler and pop music had that swing? She hops in her Time Machine and turns back the dial to the days of Boogie Woogie, of course!

One might think that Ella Rodgers, vocalist and musician, might share the same enthusiasm for current pop music and the latest trends as her peers. However, Ella's musical taste harkens back more than 80 years to her favorite recording artists of the 1910s to the 1960s. As a vocalist, Ella’s style borrows from The Boswell Sisters, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Judy Garland, Doris Day, and others. Her first tutors arrived in the form of old records she found at thrift stores, as well as her Dad's playing that fascinated Ella as a child. As a pianist, Ella’s styles are equally as varied – ragtime, blues, traditional, and the best of the American Songbook. As a songwriter, Ella captures the fun and light-hearted existence of living along the coast near Savannah, Georgia, evoking that certain Leslie Gore vibe of the Sixties, and leaving listeners with one of her melodies stuck in their heads for days.

Ella Rodgers was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, a city full of rich musical history and southern charm. She started playing piano at age six, writing at age eight, and performing professionally at age fifteen. She learned to sing from listening to old records, especially Judy Garland. Her passion for writing came from her dad, Bobby Lee Rodgers. This opened her up to all styles of music from the 1920s to the 1950s, and she soon felt at home playing the music of great artists who came before her. Ella’s passion for older music transcends into her lifestyle. She started sewing her own clothing at age 12, and she embodies her love of music from her soul to her clothes. Everything about her transports you into another time. Her future goal is to continue playing with her dad and recording for many decades to come.

A bright new voice has emerged from the Deep South. Join us in the Time Machine as we welcome the delightful Ella Rodgers, accompanied by her father, Bobby Lee Rodgers.

Laura Williams is a 20-year-old Christian singer songwriter from Quakertown, PA. Laura’s life changed overnight after she was discovered through social media by an agency who wanted to manage her full time during the spring of her senior year of high school. She decided to take her shot at music – a lifelong dream that burned inside of her.

Laura began daily vocal practice and worked with her team to perfect her social media presence while she worked as a babysitter, food delivery driver, and dog walker. After months of hard work, Laura was contacted by NBC’s The Voice. Wowing the coaches and scoring a four-chair turn, Laura’s audition blew up on social media because of her bubbly personality and soulful powerhouse vocals.

Since her time on the show, Laura has been gigging locally and traveling to and from Nashville to record music. Contemplating “what’s next?,” Laura knew it was time for a concert of her very own.

Combining Christian based motivational speaking as well as the universal language that is music, Laura intends to encourage and connect with others as she dives into multiple relatable topics of hardship we experience in our lives, weaving heartfelt songs into each subject throughout the show. HONESTLY: A Journey In Faith breathes life into the saying that being challenged in life is inevitable, but being defeated is optional. Laura’s concert will leave all in attendance feeling seen and hopeful.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Internationally renowned guitarist Ana Popovic has built her career on defining and describing, on her own terms, the essence of American music, pushing limits, bending genres, and reinventing her music and herself with each new record. She's shown her commitment to celebrating her guitar-driven, eclectic music style through consistent touring, awards, and recognition for the past 25 years. In the process, she's emerged as one of the most thoughtful, dynamic, and committed performers in modern songwriting and guitar.

Ana's latest album, Power (2023), brings those dynamics to the fore and, in the process, turns this set of songs into both a powerful and personal tale of survival through faith, determination and tenacity. They were spawned from a decidedly tricky set of circumstances that tested Ana's devotion to making music and her perseverance. After a breast cancer diagnosis, and with the support and encouragement of her band, Ana scheduled demos, recordings, re-recordings and live shows with her band between chemotherapy treatments and never missed a show.

Power was recorded with an all-star line-up of top notch musicians from Detroit, Dallas, and New Orleans. She wrote and produced the album along with her bass player/musical director Buthel and it was then mixed and mastered by multi-talented Grammy Award and Dove Award-winning producer Jeremy Bishop Hicks. The tracks on Power have Ana and company veering from hard stomping blues to relentless rhythms and searing soulful refrains.

It's little wonder Ana's music continues to have such an indelible impact. Popovic has been nominated for eight Blues Music Awards. She's appeared on the covers of Vintage Guitar and Guitar Player magazines. Most of Ana's albums have climbed to the Top Five of the Billboard Blues Charts and continue to receive regular airplay on radio stations worldwide. Ana and her band continue to tour relentlessly. She is stronger and more driven than ever before. Don't miss this always-amazing live show!

Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee JD Souther is “one of the most celebrated songwriters of his generation,” writes Interview Magazine.

JD’s latest releases include Tenderness (Sony Music Masterworks), described by Uncut Magazine as an album that connects “LA’s 70s golden age with the Great American Songbook,” with songs that “sound like standards themselves.” Souther has also reissued expanded editions of John David Souther, Black Rose and Home By Dawn (Omnivore Recordings), followed by a reissue of Longbrach/Pennywhistle (September, 2018/UME).

Souther has penned countless hits for the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Roy Orbison, James Taylor, Don Henley, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks and Dunn and others, while establishing a cult following as a performer with the Souther-Hillman-Furay Band and as a solo artist. As an actor, he has appeared in the TV Shows Thirtysomething and Nashville, among others. A passionate animal lover and advocate, JD is also involved with Best Friends Animal Society.

    PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Alan Doyle - actor, producer, author, and lead singer for Newfoundland’s Great Big Sea for over 20 years - hardly needs an introduction. With five solo albums under his belt, Doyle has been touring with his six-piece band for the last decade. In 2014, Doyle released his memoir Where I Belong, followed by A Newfoundlander In Canada (October 2017), and All Together Now (November 2020). Amidst these projects, Doyle found time to write music for and appear on CBC’s Republic of Doyle, guest on CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries, and had roles in Winter’s Tale (2014) and Robin Hood (2010). With his 2022 live album Here, Tonight and a recent JUNO nomination for his 2021 album Back to the Harbour, Doyle chalks up a lot of where he is right now to luck.

Doyle hails from Petty Harbour, NL, and formed Great Big Sea in 1993 with Sean McCann, Bob Hallett, and Darrell Power, in which they fused traditional Newfoundland music with their own pop sensibilities. Their 9 albums, double-disc hits retrospective, and two DVDs have all been declared Gold or Platinum and have sold a combined 1.2 million copies in Canada.

Adam Baldwin has been a mainstay of the Atlantic Canada music scene for over a decade. His music has continued to evolve since his 2013 award winning self-titled solo debut EP. In 2016 Baldwin released his first full length album No Telling When (Precisely Nineteen Eight-Five). On his sophomore full-length album, Concertos & Serenades, Adam Baldwin bears witness and pays tribute to a tradition of desperation: sinners and losers, perpetual failures, and down-and-out phantoms that haunt his home’s coastlines and back roads - without a passing judgement. Some of the tales happened, some didn’t, and most walk a tightrope between truth and fiction.
