PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Crystal’s love for music developed at an early age, stemming from the need to find peace in a chaotic world. For her, music has always been the most effective form of catharsis. Crystal moved to Chicago, IL at 17 years old, where she spent her days performing underground on subway platforms between working odd jobs. While in Chicago, she broadened her musical horizons and shared her talents in a variety of venues, ultimately auditioning for the ninth season of American Idol. She has used her talents to benefit several causes close to her heart and has become an inspiration for people living with Type 1 Diabetes. Crystal draws upon her various influences to make the kind of music that resonates with her spirit. It is both tender and tough, rough yet polished, and encompasses many genres without falling neatly into only one. Her mission is to bring a positive message and healing to the world.

Adeem Maria (they/them/theirs) is a seventh-generation Carolinian, a makeshift poet, singer-songwriter, storyteller, and blue-collar Artist. Blending a homegrown affection for Country Music with the emotional ballyhoo of alternative folk in the early aughts, they have created a unique brand of Americana that pays homage to John Prine and John Darnielle (of The Mountain Goats) in equal parts. After touring with American Aquarium and opening for acts like Will Hoge, Emily Wolfe, & Jaime Wyatt, they launched the “Redneck Fundraiser,” to finance their new album. In a matter of a few weeks, they raised over $15,000 to work with an all-star cast of musicians on their upcoming record for a release in late 2022.

Even among the pantheon of music’s finest artists, Del McCoury stands alone. From the nascent sound of bluegrass that charmed hardscrabble hillbilly honkytonks, rural schoolhouse stages, and the crowning glory of the Grand Ole Opry to the present-day culture-buzz of viral videos and digital streams, Del is the living link. On primetime and late-night television talk shows, there is Del. From headlining sold-out concerts to music festivals of all genres, including one carrying his namesake, there is Del. Where audiences number in the tens of thousands, and admirers as diverse as country-rock icon Steve Earle and jamband royalty Phish count as two among hundreds, there is Del. Countless hours of recording sessions and miles of tireless touring dotted the decades. Del carried on, and carried with him the hallowed traditions of the form and its dedicated following. Now helming the Del McCoury Band with sons Ronnie and Rob, the ensemble did and continues to represent in a larger, growing musical community a peerless torchbearer for the entire sweep and scope of bluegrass history.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Over 25 years in comedy, Gary Gulman has established himself as an eminent performer and peerless writer. It’s no wonder the NewYorkTimes wrote, “Gary is finally being recognized as one of the country’s strongest comedians.”

A product of Boston, Gulman has been a scholarship college football player, an accountant, and a high school teacher. He has made countless television appearances as both a comedian and an actor and is one of only a handful of comedians to perform on every single late-night comedy program.Today, Gulman is one of the most popular touring comics, selling out theaters around the country. He is currently on his Born On 3rd Base Tour, in which he hilariously chronicles his impoverished childhood on food stamps, free lunch and welfare checks while skewering our current Tale of Two Cities-esque wealth gap. Few, if any comedians have addressed class so deftly and entertainingly. In November 2021, Gulman performed for the first time to a sold out crowd at Carnegie Hall in NewYork City. Gulman has made four masterful TV specials including his most recent universally acclaimed stand-up special for HBO,The Great Depresh. In 2019 he appeared in the international blockbuster Joker. He was most recently seen co-starring with Amy Schumer in the hit Hulu comedy series, Life & Beth.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

A man armed only with a banjo and a bass drum can be a formidable force, especially if his name is William Elliott Whitmore.  With his powerful voice and honest approach, Whitmore comes from the land, growing up on a family farm in Lee County, Iowa.  Whitmore has repeatedly carved his own path, honoring the longstanding tradition of folk music throughout his nearly 20 year career, while always allowing his blues, soul and punk rock influences to shine through. Getting his first break opening for his friend’s hardcore band with just a banjo in hand, he would discover bands like The Jesus Lizard, Bad Brains, Lungfish and Minutemen and soon learn to play his own brand of rural, roots music with that same DIY ethic. William Elliott Whitmore has been back and forth across the United States and to cities around the world. He’s toured with such diverse acts as Frank Turner, Trampled By Turtles, Clutch and Chris Cornell to name a few. He’s appeared on some of the biggest stages around the world including Stagecoach Fest, Byron Bluesfest (Australia) and End of the Road Fest (UK). His willingness to take his show to any playing field has proved invaluable as he turned strangers to diehards with every performance.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

Acclaimed alt-country artists Brent Cobb and Hayes Carll are set to hit the road for a co-headlining tour. The two celebrated songwriters are bringing something special to this run, as each artist will hit the stage to perform their own songs, before uniting for a one-of-a-kind collaborative concert.

For Cobb, the run signifies a chance to link up with one of his favorite musicians on the planet. “Hayes is everything a true artist/songwriter ought to be in my book. I’ve had the privilege of playing shows with him here and there over the years, but I’ve always hoped we’d be able to do something a little longer lasting. We’re gettin’ together to give ourselves as well as the crowds something that I believe we’ll all talk about for a while.” Carll concurs, adding, “Every time I listen to Brent, I'm reminded that there's still some groove, soul, and sanity in this world."

Cobb is touring in support of his January 2022 release, And Now, Let's Turn to Page..., which was made with legendary producer Dave Cobb in RCA Studio A in Nashville. Carll will be performing songs from his whole discography and, in particular, from 2021’s You Get It All, produced by Allison Moorer and guitar legend Kenny Greenberg.

Together, the duo will showcase their singular country styles before uniting to prove the unending power of collaboration.

These four guitar players are set on a mission to explore new galaxies of sound with a wide repertoire of original pieces and covers, which they perform in the fingerpicking technique and skillfully arranged for four guitars. Their musical treat based on the reinterpretation of a range of modern music classics, is equally at home in the styles of jazz and of Latin American music, creating a mesmerizing experience that brings the audience from popular movie scores to jazz, from Astor Piazzolla to the Beatles, from Eagles to Toto, from Dire Straits to Eric Clapton, all perfectly merged with their unique style and their original work and compositions.

After successfully releasing their music on the web, causing a sensation with the rearrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen which now counts more than 9 million views on YouTube, plus being highlighted by the official Queen website thanking them for creating such a lovely version of their famous tune, the passion that these four guitar players share for the world of film and film music has led them to a series of interesting covers of famous film scores, among which are the two key themes written by John Williams for Star Wars directed by George Lucas – the Main Theme and Imperial March medley.

The Explorers Club are American pop rock at its best, originating from the coast of South Carolina. They feature a rotating cast of musicians, led by Jason Brewer. The music of their first album is heavily influenced by the vocal harmony styles and production of The Beach Boys. and they are also influenced by classic rock and roll arrangements as made popular by The Beatles, Chuck Berry, Phil Spector, The Zombies, The Monkees and The Byrds. Their second album shows more influences of soft-pop artists of the early 1970s such as Burt Bacharach and Glen Campbell. If you still believe "they don't make music like they used to," you'll be pleasantly surprised to see The Explorer's Club live!

Liebert’s incredible global success on a musical level often seems like a simple outgrowth of his cultural background and powerful wanderlust in his formative years. Born in Cologne, Germany to Chinese-German father and Hungarian mother, he began playing guitar at 11, and traveled extensively through Europe and Asia intent on fully absorbing each musical tradition he encountered. After pursuing his Rock and Roll dreams first in his native Germany and then in Boston, he abandoned the frustrations of the East coast and settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico. By 1989, he had founded the first incarnation of his new band Luna Negra. Nouveau Flamenco began life as a self-produced local release called Marita: Shadows and Storms, copies of which local Indian artist Frank Howell distributed in his art galleries. When the record found its way to radio stations and began generating a buzz among programmers and an unprecedented response among listeners, Higher Octave Music picked it up and released a fully remastered version. Liebert has since become one of the most successful instrumental artists of the past decade, thrilling audiences throughout the world and releasing a catalog of classic recordings.

THE AIRPLANE FAMILY reunites original and legacy members of Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna, Jefferson Airplane, Bob Weir’s Rat Dog, David Crosby Band, New Riders and Oteil Burbridge Band to perform the 50th Anniversary of Paul Kantner’s Jefferson Starship masterpiece of Science Fiction and Rock & Roll. "Blows Against the Empire" is a concept album by Paul Kantner, released under the name Paul Kantner and Jefferson Starship. It is the first album to use the "Starship" moniker, a name which Kantner and Grace Slick would later use for the band Jefferson Starship that emerged after Jack Casady and Jorma Kaukonen left Jefferson Airplane. From a commercial standpoint, it performed comparably to Jefferson Airplane albums of the era, peaking at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 and receiving a RIAA gold certification. It was one of the first two albums to be nominated for a Hugo Award in the category of Best Dramatic Presentation. “Blows Against the Empire” marked the debut of the Jefferson Starship moniker, though not of the band itself, since it predates the actual formation of the Jefferson Starship band by 4 years. The album was recorded at Pacific High Recording Studios and Wally Heider Recording Studios in San Francisco. The result derives from a period of cross-collaboration during late 1969 through 1971 by a collection of musicians from various San Francisco bands including Jefferson Airplane,Grateful Dead, and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young recording at the same time in the city. For “Blows,” Kantner enlisted Grace Slick, Peter Kaukonen, Jack Casady, Joey Covington, David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Graham Nash and others. He described Jefferson Starship as a ‘loose coalition of musicians that would get together from time to time’ – a protocol upon which THE AIRPLANE FAMILY was organized. THE AIRPLANE FAMILY will perform the 50th Anniversary of “Blows” in its entirety for the first time ever, anywhere, plus ‘The Worst of Jefferson Airplane’...their greatest hits compilation. Peter Kaukonen, original member of both Jefferson Starship and Hot Tuna, who also joined Jefferson Airplane for their 1989 tour with his brother Jorma, brings his unique optic as an integral part of the original recording for "Blows Against the Empire." Also appearing are long time Kantner (from KBC through 2016 Jefferson Starship) lead guitarist Slick Aguilar (who also played with Crosby in the 80s), guitarist/vocalist Mike Falzarano (Hot Tuna & New Riders), drummer Pete Lavazzoli who currently performs with Oteil Burbidge and with JGB for 12 years, and acclaimed female vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Clare Maloney will add the Grace Slick vocals.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

The world tends to look at accomplishments in the form of accolades and Michael Cleveland has plenty to his credit, including a 2019 GRAMMY. After picking up the fiddle at age 4, Michael’s musical momentum began to propel him forward towards early success. “When I started taking lessons at age 4,” he remembers, “I told the teacher right up front that I wanted to learn how to play bluegrass and I wanted to play ‘Orange Blossom Special.'" Reluctant as they were, his teachers quickly found reason to his rhyme, helping him progress to the point when, at age 9, Michael was invited to sit in with the legendary Bill Monroe at the Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival. Soon after, he brought his virtuosic style to the Grand Ole Opry as a guest of Alison Krauss, and was hand picked for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Bluegrass Youth Allstars before he was 14. His blistering prowess and technical fluency have since marked him as a sought-after musician, leading to performances with Vince Gill, Marty Stuart, Tim O’Brien, J.D. Crowe and the New South, Andy Statman, and The Kruger Brothers in recent years. However, it wasn’t until 2006, when Michael formed his own band, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, that he found the right vehicle for his musical vision, and he hasn’t rested since, constantly looking for new ways to push himself and his music forward.

PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION

World-renowned guitarist Stanley Jordan has developed a live show called “Stanley Jordan Plays Jimi.” This is a tribute show, but it’s not pure imitation. Instead Stanley builds on Jimi’s legacy in a creative way. As Stanley explains it, “This is my fantasy Jimi Hendrix concert if Jimi were still alive and playing today. By re-imagining his music and channeling his persona I try to bring that fantasy to life.” This extra touch of portraying the Hendrix of today rather then yesterday keeps the show creative and fresh for both Stanley and the audience and it gives Stanley’s fans a new insight into Stanley’s own evolution. It also makes the show more authentic in a certain sense, because a real Hendrix concert would have surprises and unexpected turns. “Stanley Jordan Plays Jimi” tries to re-create both the energy and the creativity of the real thing.

Stanley is already a well-known guitarist with a signature style, four Grammy nominations, a cameo in a Blake Edwards film (Blind Date), and a host of TV appearances over a long career including Jimmy Fallon, David Letterman, Jay Leno and Johnny Carson to name a few. Stanley builds on Jimi’s work by incorporating touch, or two-hand tapping techniques. In terms of look and style, Stanley stays mostly faithful to Jimi’s traditional style.
