Cameron Esposito is a Los Angeles-based standup comic, actor, writer, and host.
In addition to her work as a nationally touring headliner, Cameron has appeared on NBC, CBS, Comedy Central, TBS, IFC, E!, Cartoon Network and HBO Canada. She can be seen in the upcoming seasons of ABC’s A Million Little Things and The Rookie: Feds, Amazon’s With Love, and the E! Online podcast If We’re Being Honest With Laverne Cox. This year, Cameron hosted the 2nd Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards as well as AMC’s Obsessed With the Vampire. She has been named a Comic to Watch by The New York Times, Variety, The Guardian, LA Weekly, Time Out Los Angeles, Jezebel, Los Angeles Magazine and Cosmopolitan Magazine and was named “Best of 2018” by Time Magazine.
In March 2020, Cameron released her first-ever book, “Save Yourself,” a memoir that tackles sexuality, gender and equality – and how her Catholic upbringing prepared her for a career as an outspoken lesbian comedian in ways the Pope never could have imagined. The book, published by Grand Central Publishing became an instant best seller. Recently, Cameron performed stand up for HBO’s Human By
Orientation Pride 2020 Celebration (also featuring acts from Janelle Monae, Kim Petras, and Todrick Hall), starred in TBS’s Tournament of Laughs comedy competition show, and is currently in development with Sundance TV for an original true crime docuseries.
In 2018, Cameron released her comedy special, “Rape Jokes,” and raised over $100,000 for
RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, by releasing the special for free and encouraging viewers to donate in lieu of subscribing and watching on a streaming service. Cameron’s personal exploration of the #MeToo movement debuted to rave reviews. The self-financed hour has been praised as “unapologetically hard-hitting, bracingly timely hour” (Vanity Fair), “blistering, masterful, tragic, hilarious” (New York Magazine) and the “first great stand-up set of the #MeToo era” (The Daily Beast). A writer from the The Daily Beast who happened to be in the audience hailed the set as “powerful,” “daring and hilarious,” and as “the first great stand-up set of the #metoo era.”
She also hosts her own podcast QUEERY – the show features a series of hour long conversations with some of the brightest luminaries in the LGBTQ+ family. QUEERY explores individual stories of identity, personality and the shifting cultural matrix around gender, sexuality and civil rights. In 2021, Cameron served as the inaugural host for the Podcast Academy’s annual award show: The Ambies.
