ABOUT THE ARTIST:
From the release of his very first album, Pat Metheny has worked to reinvent the traditional jazz guitar sound for a new generation of players. Even today, Metheny has continued to redefine the genre by utilizing new technology and constantly evolving the improvisational and sonic potential of his instrument. But Metheny hasn’t limited himself to just the jazz guitar. His versatility is nearly without peer on any instrument. His body of work includes compositions for small ensembles, electric and acoustic instruments, large orchestras, ballet pieces, and even the robotic instruments of his Orchestration project.
Over the years, Metheny has won countless polls as “Best Jazz Guitarist” and awards, including 20 Grammys. His Fall 2023 solo tour will coincide with the release of his new album “Dream Box,” but it will feature personal and fan favorites from his nearly 50-year career.
“What I have planned is something different for me,” Metheny says. “The tour is focused on the various ways of playing solo I have explored across all these decades in an evening that I think will be very special.”
