Dobro master and 14-time GRAMMY winner Jerry Douglas is to the resonator guitar what Jimi Hendrix was to the electric guitar, elevating, transforming, and reinventing the instrument. One of Nashville's most in-demand session players is also three-time CMA Musician of the Year who plays in Alison Krauss' Union Station, was a member of the seminal J.D. Crowe and the New South (also included Ricky Skaggs & Tony Rice) and leads the Earls of Leicester. Jerry was also on the eight-million-plus selling soundtrack 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' plus its spinoff live disc 'Down from the Mountain.' This is your chance to catch this distinctive pioneering musical visionary as he returns to Sellersville Theater!
Philadelphia-based steel guitarist Mike 'Slo-Mo' Brenner (Jason Molina, Marah, The Low Road, Slo-Mo, John Train) ventures into Indian trance mode on his newest live project. Playing a 22-string Indian slide guitar called a 'chaturangui', Brenner and percussionist Hoagy Wing perform originals and covers with an Eastern drone underpinning the sound. Brenner studied Hindustani slide in Calcutta, India in 2013 with slide master Debashish Bhattacharya and recorded the cd "Tripti" while he stayed at Bhattacharya's school.
